The Scott and Gault 10 Mile race was held on August 14th, 117 runners took part in the race on what was a very warm day and a hilly course.

Club Handicap Race Series

Seapark AC have now started their series of club handicap races, with the first being held on Tuesday 3rd August. Everyone who took part is in the above photo.

The next club handicap race will be held on 17th August at Magowns.

Cookstown Half Marathon

The Cookstown half marathon was held on 25 th July. 2 athletes from seapark took part in this very hilly course finishing with the following times - Gary Davison 01:27:02 and Rob Gordon 01:37:08

Portaferry 10 mile

The Portaferry 10 mile race which is part of the Portaferry Gala week was held on 20th July. This was a very well organised race and running conditions were perfect on the night.
4 seapark members took part results as follows Andrew Crothers 1:07:05, Reg Kapur 1:07:48, Pauline Smyth 1:24:44 and Lynsey Ward 1:24:57

Lisburn Half Marathon and 10K

The Lisburn half marathon and 10k road race were held on 16th June.

3 seapark runners completed the half marathon - Gary Davison first seapark runner home in 1:25:23, followed by Rob Gordon 01:37:37 and then Stephen Hamilton in a time of 01:41:20.

3 seapark runners also completed the 10k race - Geraldine Sweeney 48:23, Julie-Ann Mitchell 58:33 and then Marie Nicholson in 01:01:18.

Seapark AC 10K Results

Les Jones 10K - 14th May

Congratulations to new club members Lynsey Ward and Simon Fuller who took part in the recent Les Jones 10k. Simon completed the course in 50:25 with Lynsey close behind in a time of 50:52.

Belfast Marathon 2010

The 29th Belfast city Marathon was held on May day, the marathon is the biggest running event in N.Ireland with 3,300 people taking part in the marathon and a further 11,000 relay runners. Of course the members of seapark ac were amongst these runners.

2 seapark athletes completed the tough 26.2 mile course - Stephen Hamilton completed the course in 3:59:02 and Vivean Davidson in 4:54:23

Seapark also entered 3 relay teams - Seapark male team finished in 3:12:55, Seapark mixed in 3:41:20 and Seapark female in 3:47:42.

Titanic Quarter 10k

The Titanic Quarter 10k was held on 11th April, it was a hot sunny day and 4 seapark runners took part in this race.

Both Gary and Marie ran a person best on the day! Congratulations to everyone

London Marathon
Well done to Gary Davison who completed the London Marathon with a fantastic time of 3:02:19

Rotterdam Marathon

Andrew Weir ran the Rotterdam marathon on 11th April, it was a cold day for the marathon at only 6 degress and conditions were quite windy. Andrew finished the marathon in 4:26, split times are as follows

10k 1.00
20k 2.02
halfway 2.07
30k 3.05
42k 4.26

Whitehead Easter Monday 5 mile race

On a warm & sunny Easter Monday 4 Seapark runners ran the 3 lap race around the hilly roads of Whitehead, results are:
Bobbie Irvine 33:20
Reg Kapur 33:30
Bobby Nicholson 35:48
Victoria McCobb 41:50

Larne Half Marathon and Relay

Seapark athletes were amongst the runners in the Larne Half Marathon, held on Saturday 20th March. This is a half marathon and 3 person relay event.

Gary Davison was the first seapark runner home, completing the race in 1:23:50,then Bobby Irvine in 1:28:56, followed by Rob Gordon in 1:37:07, Reg Kapur was in close behind Rob in 1:38:12. First female home was Victoria McCobb in 1:52:33, close after was Marian Mach in 1:52:24 and Vivean Davidson in 2:04:43.

A relay team also entered for seapark, completing the race in 1:48:11.

Albertville 5 mile

100 runners took part in the Albertville 5 mile race which was held in the Duncrue area of Belfast on Saturday 6th March. The weather was perfect, staying dry with sunshine and there was a great atmosphere amongst the athletes taking part.
2 Seapark runners took part - Reg Kapur and Bobby Irvine.
Bobby ran a personal best, finishing in 39th place with a fast time of 31:45, Reg came in close behind with a time of 33:32 and finishing in 54th position.

Turin 10K

Andrew Weir completed the Turin 10k recently in Italy. The race is called the Tutta Dritta which translates as the all straight one. True to its name it was straught only snaking across the main street to join the other side of the road. The weather was a cool 5 degrees.

Andrew completed the course in a respectable time of 51:30, placed 1817 out of 4000 competitors, a good effort for his first 10k in over 2.5 years

Joe Seeley 10k

Seapark AC presented a very good turn out at this years Joe Seeley Cup, which was held on Saturday 5th December.

The Seeley cup is a 10k race, which covers 3.5 laps of Ormeau Park. This is a popular race, which had 671 finishers this year.

Seapark results are Stephen McNeill 00:38:56, Gary Davison 00:39:43, Stephen Hamilton 00:44:18, gareth shannon 00:44:27, Geraldine Sweeney 00:47:20, Victoria McCobb 00:48:50, Julie Hunter 00:50:12,Bobbie Irvine 00:50:55, Lynn Nesbitt 00:51:05, Vivien Davidson 00:53:31, Marie Nicholson 01:02:16 and Vicki Hamilton 01:02:43.

Seapark AC annual dinner

Seapark AC had the annual club dinner on Friday 27th November at The Point restaurant in Carrickfergus.

After a wonderful meal the prize giving commenced - Prizes were awared to the following runners.
Most improved athlete - Marie Nicholson
Best male athlete - Gary Davison
Best female athlete - Pauline Smyth
Master female athlete - Vivean Davison
Master male athlete - Gary Connolly

Prizes for the club handicap races were also given to Jenny, Marie Nicholson, Stephen Hamilton, Bobby Irvine, Matthew Hoyland, Geraldine Sweeney who collected award on behalf of her son

A special prize was also given to Bobby Nicholson for his contribution as Race Director in the club race

Big thanks must go to Jenny who organised another fantastic night out
