Albertville 5 mile
100 runners took part in the Albertville 5 mile race which was held in the Duncrue area of Belfast on Saturday 6th March. The weather was perfect, staying dry with sunshine and there was a great atmosphere amongst the athletes taking part.
2 Seapark runners took part - Reg Kapur and Bobby Irvine.
Bobby ran a personal best, finishing in 39th place with a fast time of 31:45, Reg came in close behind with a time of 33:32 and finishing in 54th position.
Boxing Day Run
Eight hardy souls made it to Woodburn Forest on Boxing Day to work off the excess turkey and pudding; six runners, one cyclist and a lone walker

Boxing Day Run
Road conditions were atrocious with bad ice making some roads impassable and some of our friends couldn’t make it to the forest, either having to turn back or getting stuck and having to wait to be assisted out of a sticky situation.
Those who did get to run were treated to a beautiful winter wonderlandscene of snow covered forest trails and, with the sun coming out, the weather conditions were perfect for running. There was however a lot of ice under foot, making the paths very slippery and forcing us to keep a sedate pace (just as well after all that Christmas dinner).
For most of us that was it for the day, but for Gary D. it was just a short interlude in the middle of a much longer training run on his way to London in April.
Runners were Gary C, Gary D, Barbara, snr, Donal jnr & Bobbie
Cyclist (& photographer) Alan R
Walker was Nicola Irvine

Andrew Weir completed the Turin 10k recently in Italy. The race is called the Tutta Dritta which translates as the all straight one. True to its name it was straught only snaking across the main street to join the other side of the road. The weather was a cool 5 degrees.
Andrew completed the course in a respectable time of 51:30, placed 1817 out of 4000 competitors, a good effort for his first 10k in over 2.5 years

Bobby Irvine travelled to Stranraer on Saturday 7th November to take part in their annual 10K race.
It was an early start, checking in for the ferry at 7:00am but the crossing was calm and the weather turned out great for the race.
The race started at 12 noon and was mostly on rural roads on the outskirts of the town. The course is mostly
flat except for a half mile hill at about half way which is pretty steep but the views along the ridge at the top were well worth the climb. The last few kilometers bring you back down hill with the finish on the athletics track at the Stranraer Academy.
Bobby finished in 40:37, 16th place over all (out of 203 finishers) and 3rd in the M45 category, picking up a trophy and £10 in vouchers also.
The event was well organised, with the start and finish within walking distance of the ferry terminal and there are good changing and showering facilities.
Bobby would recommend the race to anyone looking to take on the challenge of running somewhere different
